The Taiwan Society of Emergency Medicine (TSEM) is dedicated to treating emergency illnesses and injuries, and has assisted the Taiwanese government in establishing a world-class emergency medical system since its conception in 1994. As a full member of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), TSEM participates actively in international policy planning regarding disaster relief and emergency medical care, education and training, and cross-border research. In recognition of the fact that healthcare is the collective responsibility of every member in the global community, as well as to safeguard the Taiwanese people's right to quality healthcare, Taiwan sends delegates to attend and actively contribute their professional experience and research results during roundtable discussions of the annual World Health Assembly (WHA) and technical conferences organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
TSEM urges the nations of the world to recognise Taiwan's participation and past contributions to the international community, and especially the healthcare rights of the Taiwanese people. Taiwan's attendance at the WHA should be fully supported by all nations alike.
